Jacqui Lambi’s Senate comeback

Jacqui Lambie was a Senator for Tasmania from 2013 until she resigned in 2017 after being caught up in the dual citizenship saga that she inherited from her Scottish-born father.

Jacqui grew up working class in northwest Tasmania, dropped out of high school and joined the army until she was medically discharged.

Jacqui was elected to the Senate in the 2013 election, under the Palmer United Party banner.

She resigned from the party the following year to sit as an independent.

Since resigning, Jacqui has renounced her Scottish citizenship paving the way back into the Senate this coming election.
